Originally built in 1838, Lister Mills was once the world's largest silk mill and still dominates Bradford’s skyline. The mills’ floor space spanned over 27 acres and employed nearly 10,000 people.
In 2006 Urban Splash began redeveloping the vacant mills to create new apartments and commercial units beginning with the Silk Warehouse. A second phase of the regeneration focussed on Velvet Mills including the addition of innovative apartment roof ‘Pods’ designed by David Morley Architects.
